# How to Work

Users earn EL Points by staking ELUSD, holding ELUSD in their wallet, and optionally sharing their referral link.

* EL Points are calculated and credited once per day, based on a snapshot taken at 00:00 UTC.
* At the snapshot time, the protocol records for each address:
  * ELUSD balance held in the wallet
  * sELUSD balance held in the wallet
* Daily EL Points for each address are calculated from these on-chain balances and added to that address’s cumulative total for the current Season.
